Starting to make my Christmas decorations early this year.
I am still really enjoying the crocheting so I think that will be the theme for this year.

What do you make the cutest little 18 week old baby girl … A princess crown of course.
This felt crown is easy to put together. All you need is felt, elastic, glue (I use a hot glue gun) and a sewing machine.
A great idea for birthday parties.
The kids have been getting heavy in to the ‘Super Hero’ dress-ups and because they change their mind every five minutes in regards to their favorite hero, I thought it cost effective to try and make my own Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle masks. I went to my second home (Spotlight) and purchased pre-cut green felt (1m worth) and then grabbed single A4 sheets of the various Ninja Turtle felt colours. Days later I have five Ninja Turtle looking masks. The kids thought they were fantastic.
Now I am making masks left, right and centre. They are really easy to make, so if your child has multiple heroes make your own 🙂
I copied a Spiderman mask we have floating around.
Thank you to all the people who put our stickers out tonight and gave us loads of candy, we had a great time trick and treating 🙂
Next week is Halloween [add creepy laugh here] and this time I am prepared. Last year we Tricked and Treated around my parents neighborhood and although we got a bit of candy, I think this year we are going to hit the jack pot.
My cousin who Halloweens with her two children each year has come up with the idea to do a letter drop. The letter gives her neighbors a heads up on when they will be knocking, what a fantastic idea.
So I am really hoping that my letters catch peoples eyes and they will load up with candy for my children (not for me, I don’t like candy, much). If said letter does not work, then a second letter will be sent out [add creepy laugh here].
I have taught myself to crochet (with a few helpful tips from the professionals) it is much easier than knitting and a lot more forgiving. I am finding it very relaxing and rewarding.
So far I have only attempted headbands, flowers, bows and beanies. I would like to try and make a ‘Nana Rug’. So if I do, you will be one of the first to view it …
The wet weather didn’t keep everyone away yesterday. We had plenty of customers who braved the wet and windy conditions
(thank you).
I am looking forward to the next one … I think I will have to make double the amount of lollypops though, they went down a treat.
Something fun for the kids or big kids 🙂
I was very excited when one of my closest friends told me she was getting married. With five days until the wedding I wanted to try and make it extra special for her. Not that I am married (hint, hint dear), but I have been to a few weddings in my time so I kinda knew what I wanted to do.
Firstly the garter … You can buy the garter material from spotlight and add your own fancy bits. I added a couple of bows, a double love heart pendant and a bit of bling.
The something old, new, borrowed and blue …
The … I am not sure what these are, but they are very popular at weddings and I knew my friend needed one 🙂 I took some silk material I had stashed and trimmed it with some lace and added the love heart pendant and a bow.
Last of all the wedding favors. I purchased these candle jars from K-mart, added a personalized sticker to the front and made a flower/love heart decoration for the side.
The day was beautiful.
I like to checkout the clearance and scrap bins at my local Spotlight shop, this time I was rewarded with this lovely embroidered material. I figured there would be enough to make a couple of skirts and at $3.00 for almost a meter, why not grab it.
So three quarters of an hour later I came up with this very simple skirt.
My little Bella looks very cute in it.
